Its time to build one Orao kit for my collection, so, i took the kit and camera and start modeling and shooting, here is the Orao 1/72 scale resin kit build photo story.
My Romanian language is not so good, and i hope , English, with lot of photos, will tell you the story.

I chose this Orao scheme, serialed 25207, with heavily weared paint scheme, "Pepsi" style Yugoslav markings, prior the plane is overhauled and repainted in new, black&white display "Penguin" scheme.
Standard, Medium Gray/Green/Light blue scheme is patched with darker green and dark Gray on topsides and brown patches on undersides, giving the unusual look of this ORAO jet.

Kit is resin, Soko J-22 Orao 1/72 scale by AEROPOXY, made in SERBIA.

Fuselage sides sanded, just to gain proper alignment,



I do some accuracy checks, using drawings made by VTI (Aviation Technical Institute-Belgrade , Orao project construction burreau) .





Few hours of cleaning and sanding and all the parts are ready for assembly,











Lead weight superglued, just to be safe not building an tailseater,

Parcel was mailed 23.2.2010, tracking number RR142411035RS

No AirMail service between Serbia and Romania, so, this week should be delivered.

1/32 scale, i do an scratchbuild one for my collection, not finished yet, its too big to be cast in resin, but who knows, vacuformed fuselage and resin wings will be possible option for limited edition kit.

Am receptionat azi coletul. M-am bucurat mult cand am vazut ca avionul e mai mare decat ce promitea cutia. Cei care inca nu ati primit coletul va previn.

Abia astept sa il montez dar deocamdata stau cu ochii pe net sa gasesc materialele potrivite.

First Look - small box - how small can be the model?!!!
open the box (at work) started assembling (a few parts) -
first Idea - GOOD JOB - I'll have some work - but I've seen worse - from Italeri and others

by the way - a fellow biker found out that I'm a plane enthusiast - and guess what - his parents worked in IAR-93/Orao project - his mom was in the team that designed the wings - and his dad - well the entire project was under his watchful eye

Salut, a sosit si la mine coletul, maine abia ajung la posta sa-l ridic, azi am ajuns acasa dupa inchiderea postei. Mii de multumiri lui Romi ca s-a ocupat de comanda si lui Yasig ca a faurit un avion drag mie.
