This has probably been discussed here before but I am not linguistically skilled enough to find it or understand it if I could find it. I feel you guys are probably the best people to be able to answer this. In your opinion what are the best paint matches to the exterior colors of the IAR-80. It looks to me like a medium earth and forest green. Underside appears as RLM-76. I would like to find corresponding paint colors made by Polly Scale, Gunze-Sangyo or Model Master if at all possible. Humbrol paints are not readily availible to me. Your assistance is appreciated.

Swanny,
From a previous post I can tell you that the opinion was to use a so-called dark-olive green as a "green" color and a darker brown for "brown". I am pretty sure that one of the IAR-80 “experts” will be able to answer more precisely. Anybody?
Happy modeling,
ict

In the documents, the colour is named:
- for uppersurface: olive green (verde-oliv) and dark earth (pamint ars)
- for undersurface: light blue-grey (albastru-gri deschis)
But this in not OK because olive green or dark earth have many shades!!!
I used for my IAR 80:
- for uppersurface: Model Master 1780 and an mixture of 3 parts Humbrol 29 + 1 part Humbrol 155.
- for undersurface: a mixture similar with RLM 76.
Attention, the camouflage pattern is also applied under the fuselage, see the photo below
Gunze Sangio acrilic:
H52 is equivalent with Humbrol 155
H72 is equivalent with Humbrol 29
but I do not know if the are a perfect match!
