Resistance is futile. I started this just for a box review on my website but got sucked in. This is the MPM 1/48 Fw-58B Vacuform and multi-media kit. This first shot is all the kit provides for the interior less the very nice dash.

but as many of you who are getting to know me realize -- I just can't leave something like that alone so we get to this ....
Imagine postata
Now this has a few windows and the view inside is pretty good plus I plan on building it with the access doors open so the inner walls need some help, this is all scratch work and spares box stuff.
Imagine postata
The dash was good straight from the kit but the throttle quadrant was totally naked -- needed to fix that.
Imagine postata
I did add a few instruments and tried to duplicate all the flap, throttle and gear levers. Unfortunately the dash did not want to fit into the fuselage and I had to disassemble things part way to get it installed then replace the Starboard yoke and the rudder pedals.

I'm waiting for some reference material on the dorsal turret to arrive before I start to detail that area. I also have some resin 1/48 Argus S-10 engines so at least one engine compartment will be modeled open. This will be finished in Romanian markings as Black 20.

I scratch built an operational turret and installed that, all seams have been treated with Mr. Surfacer 500 and wet sanded.

Now I need some information on the flap arraingement of this aircraft. I'm studying the flaps and it looks like there is either a two piece flap on each side with a very long aireon or a three section flap where part of the aileron plays double duty. Any ideas?

Swanny do it with long ailerons. In all pictures i'v seen no lowered flaps . It seems the plane was so light and the big wingspan help the landings on short runaway and no need for flaps.

Wings are on, still have to place the support struts. Next I'll start detailing the gear bays and the engines.

This model was shipped to Brussels where customs officials decided to inspect the package and severly damaged the aircraft. Fortunately the recipient was able to make repairs.

Great job Swanny !
